These homes are 9 bed and 7 bed houses in Hackney and Bow respectively, providing accommodation for men who have successfully completed a primary treatment programme at Acorn House. The aim is for residents to continue to participate in a recovery programme but with far greater independence, as well as engage with employment training. The houses have been renovated to a high standard and are modern and spacious throughout. In addition to their own rooms, the Residents have shared access to a large fully fitted kitchen / dining area, TV lounge, laundry facilities and a large garden.
All residents who live here would have completed a 1st & 2nd Stage rehabilitation programme from alcohol/drugs and have sufficient life skills to maintain a high level of independence, i.e., cooking, household duties, shopping, managing finances etc. The expected length of stay for a resident is between 18 months and 2 years. On arrival into the care of 3rd Stage a 'Support Plan' is developed to meet the individual needs of the Resident.
Residents work in conjunction with the Supported Housing Manager with regards to planning the progress of their recovery, including therapy, employment re-training, training courses, hobbies and leisure activities. Residents are also encouraged to build a constructive support networks outside of the Lodge, for example Self Help Groups, Aftercare Groups, etc.
