We are a non residential community that aims to create a safe environment in which people can acquire new skills and discover their self identity, abilities and goals while learning to relate to others at a deeper level. Who is it for? The project is run for those recovering from life controlling problems, mental illness or major life traumas. Referrals are taken from GPs, social workers, hostels and churches. Anyone over the age of 18 is eligible though priority is given to those living in the east of London. The project also aims to help: the unemployed towards finding a job or entering further training people moving into independent accommodation What happens at the project? The sessions run between 10.30 and 3.00pm every week day except Wednesday. Wednesdays are put aside for assessments, counselling and administration. All or some of the modules can be selected. Certificates are given at the end of some of the modules. People are invited to come for an initial visit when they will receive a whole person assessment. This, along with the person's individual goals, determines their choice of sessions. Their progress will be monitored continuously. Our guidelines We do not discriminate against people on any grounds other than prioritising those from East London. Each person's individuality is respected and encouraged. There is no charge for services as all funds are raised through gifts and donations. Each day begins with a time of worship to which all are welcome. Although the project is based on Biblical foundations, students are not expected to be familiar with or to confess the Christian faith. The rights of students are encouraged and respected.
